Bringing Hope to Ibadan – TOSOL’s 2024 Outreach Mission

Introduction
In July and August 2024, TOSOL (The Outreach Solution) embarked on another impactful charity mission in Nigeria, bringing much-needed relief to vulnerable children and individuals in Ibadan. Our team visited two key centres—the Ministry of Women Affairs Juvenile Correctional Institution and Child Care Unit (JCI) and the Mercy of God Home for the Less Privileged—to assess their needs and provide targeted support.

Survey Visits – Understanding the Needs
As part of our Nigeria outreach programme, we conducted site visits to identify the residents’ most urgent needs.

At Juvenile Correctional Institution (JCI), which houses children from infancy to 21 years old, the most pressing needs included:
✔ Baby supplies (diapers, baby formula, antibacterial wipes)
✔ Nutritional support (cereals, Nutribond)
✔ Medical essentials (paracetamol, multivitamins)
✔ Clothing and personal hygiene products

At Mercy of God Home, a care home for disabled individuals (ages 0–40), the primary needs were:
Food donations and groceries
Adult and children’s continence pads
Medications and healthcare supplies

Mobilising Resources for Impact
TOSOL volunteers quickly mobilised resources, raised donations, and organised logistics for the outreach visit. Our goal was not just to provide charity donations but to create a lasting impact on vulnerable communities in Nigeria.

Coming Up Next: In Part 2, we’ll share our experience of delivering these donations and our heartfelt moments with the children and caregivers.
