The children’s education and social care division of TOSOL Impact Initiatives is dedicated to empowering and educating children, with a particular focus on the girl-child, to help them build a brighter future. We aim to equip children with the tools, resources, and opportunities necessary to realise their full potential.
We partner with organisations across Africa to combat child poverty and improve the lives of children in orphanages by providing nurturing environments, educational opportunities, and comprehensive support. Our projects engage children in meaningful ways, teaching essential life skills and fostering resilience.
In 2023, we collaborated with The Stone Church and Young mothers association charity in Serekunda Gambia to support children, young people, and their families through educational activities that promote growth, safety, and happiness. We had an estimate of 72 children and 50 single mothers at the Women and Children Empowerment Event which took place at Pia Hall Bakau Gambia. We offered art and music sessions to give the children an outlet for creative expressions. They were encouraged to sow a seed and we provided seedlings and plant pots to teach the art of nurturing and growth. Additionally, we had 50 women at the same setting who engaged in financial independence and health and wellbeing workshops. Welfare packages and monetary assistance was provided to the women at the end of the session.
As part of the outreach we also visited Dancy Children’s Home. An orphanage where we saw 13 babies 10 toddlers 8 grown up children between the ages of 12-18 and also 5 teenage mothers. At the facility we engaged with the babies feeding and helping with their self care. We also provided some financial assistance some grocery items, baby clothes and toiletries.
